Willie steps down as Chairman of AFC

Create Date: Saturday, May 18, 2013

The Committee of Banbridge AFC would like to thank Mr Willie Cull, for his dedication over the past number of years as Chairman of Banbridge AFC. Building on a history stemming back to the 1930s and a name by which the club is still known locally - the Boys Club, Willie helped establish Banbridge Amalgamated Football Club (AFC) in 1997. Willie has worked tirelessly since then bringing the club to where it is today. He will still be part of the club continuing as a member of its dedicated committee seeking ways to further develop the club and entice both new players and a new first team manager to take over at the start of next season. Simon Canning will take on the role in the interim until the end of the season (AGM)

AFC dancing to a new Beattie!!

Create Date: Saturday, May 18, 2013

Banbridge Amalgamated Football Club (AFC) are delighted to announce their new First Team Manager for the 2013/14 season. Chris Beattie will take up the role in the coming weeks, and is both delighted and excited about taking the club forward. The Banbridge local, returns to the town to take over a team he knows very well. Chris is a highly qualified and experienced coach, holding his Uefa C, Uefa B and in the process of completing his Uefa A Licence. An impressive set of qualifications, matched only by an established pedigree having coached for some 18 plus years. In that time he progressed through Banbridge Town's youth set up, through Gleanavon's footballing Academy, Reserve team and also their Senior side. Chris has also spent some time with Portadown Reserves. He is more than equipped to develop Banbridge AFC who have been languishing at the bottom of the Mid Ulster Intermediate B league since 2009. Having taken a short break away from football Chris is now chomping at the bit and has even been seen on the sidelines at recent AFC matches, no doubt getting the low down on the current raft of players at the club. The Club Committee are dedicated to supporting Chris in his and their ambitions for the club, and along with Chris wish to extend an open invitation to all footballers in the town and surrounding areas to join us over the summer months, as we have some exciting and football filled times ahead.
